ONE bunch of people who would have a problem with Britain’s new laws prohibiting gay jokes would be the Iranian leadership, according to Ian O’Doherty, writing this week in the Irish Independent.
This fine bunch of people, who bring enlightenment and vision to the rest of us kuffars, recently sent one of their representatives, Mohsen Yahyavi, to meet with some British MPs and he had some interesting views.
Refuting Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s recent claim that there were no gay people in Iran, Yahyavi admitted that they did have a slight problem with filthy benders. But he has a simple solution, says O’Doherty:
According to Islam, homosexuality and lesbianism are not permitted. Those engaging in it should be executed. Homosexuality is against human nature and should not be tolerated.
However, observes Doherty, it does seem that he has moderated his position somewhat. He initially said they should be tortured before being killed, but then relented and said he would settle for just killing them.
The old softy.
Serial fondler of males Ahmadinejad (see photomontage above) made his “no gays” statement when he spoke to a distinctly hostile audience at Columbia University in September.
Asked about executions of homosexuals in Iran, Ahmadinejad said the judiciary system executed violent criminals and high-level drug dealers, comparing them to microbes eliminated through medical treatment. Pressed specifically about punishment of homosexuals, he said:
In Iran we don’t have homosexuals like in your country.
With the audience laughing derisively, he continued:
In Iran we do not have this phenomenon. I don’t know who’s told you that we have this.
This somewhat scary picture of Ahmadinejad in drag was discovered on the Worth1000 website, which invited Photoshopped pics of political leaders in drag.

Wait a second. Are they trying to prohibit gay jokes? The fudgepacking ass-pirates!
Seriously, though, free speech means free speech for everyone, always. Not just stuff you agree with.

O’Doherty got it wrong. The British government intends extending existing incitement to hatred legislation to cover gays and lesbians. As I understand it, this is an effort to prevent hate speech aimed at the gay community, not to stop the mouths of comedians. I should point out that many gay people are not happy with this move, seeing it as a further attack on freedom of expression.
