THE popular website YouTube went off-line for around two hours yesterday - all because Pakistan took offence at some of its anti-Islamic content.
According to a BBC report, the site was apparently accidentally brought down almost globally when officials took steps to block access to it within Pakistan. The BBC said the blackout was almost certainly connected to Pakistan Telecom and internet service provider PCCW.
The Pakistan authorities ordered ISPs to block the video-sharing website because of content deemed offensive to Islam.
Reports said Pakistan made the move because YouTube content included Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed that have outraged many.
But one report said a trailer for a forthcoming film by Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders, which portrays Islam in a negative light, was behind the ban.
On the other hand, the Pakistani authorities may have taken against British comedian Pat Condell, whose side-swipes at Islam have earned him thousands of fans - and more than a few enemies - around the world. See his The Trouble with Islam below

And here’s the YouTube promo for Wilders’ shortly to be released film, Forbidden. Try not to lose your lunch over Blair and Bush’s imbecilic remarks at the start.

Why can’t they just take insults like the rest of the world, instead of being jerks about it?
It’s precisely because they ARE jerks that the rest of the world insults them - and will continue to insult them until they come to their senses and ditch their stupid religion.
