WHERE in the world do they find these loopy creatures?

Michele Bachmann
We’re talking here about Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, the Christian Right Republican champion who has just attacked Democratic Leader of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, for her environmental concerns.
According to this report:
Bachmann says we don’t need pesky environmentalists like Nancy Pelosi around, because Jesus already saved the planet!
Bachmann told the right-wing news site OneNewsNow:
[Pelosi] is committed to her global warming fanaticism to the point where she has said that she’s just trying to save the planet. We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet – we didn’t need Nancy Pelosi to do that.

Other recent Bachmannisms include the claim that there isn’t actually any wildlife in the areas of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge where she wants more drilling, and the allegation that Democrats want high gas prices so as to force people to move into “inner cities” and “the urban core.”

Everytime a religious person gets a chance to speak in a public forum, they cannot help but talk shit. They do most of the work for us.

And where are the so-called moderate Christians when their mad cousins talk dangerous nonsense? I think the so-called moderates are worse than the extremists because they are so gutless and prevaricating. At least the fundie nutters are straight talkers.

‘We all know that somebody did that…’
No dear, some people *believe* that, and in the complete absence of evidence.

Right on, Stuart. The nutjobs always think that what they want to be true must be true. They can’t get the concept of fiction, or myth, into their tiny knuckle-brains.

I am ashamed to admit that I am orginally from MN and I have no idea what has happend to the state, that the people there would elect such batshit crazy idiots to office.I am glad that I now live in Europe. There is one ray of hope for MN and that is Prof.P.Z Meyers

Hey Expat, I’m glad that you’re gone too. Instead of moving to another country and whining about how bad this place is or how ashamed we are, the rest of here will try to act to change this place for the better. If more people would show up to vote when members of the Congress and other local positions are being elected, rather than just showing up to vote for Presidential elections (an election that, arguably, doesn’t matter much at the local level), maybe such “bat-shit crazy idiots” wouldn’t be elected. By the way, trying to ingratiate yourself to your new neighbors by insulting former ones is not a very attractive quality.
